Program Description

Event Details

Here we discuss the best true crime books.  While the stories can be gruesome and the characters repulsive, the stories entertain and often promote considerations of sociological and psychological perspectives.  We will discuss the narratives and the storytelling.  We meet via Zoom on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm.  This month's selection is "The Good Nurse".  After his December 2003 arrest, registered nurse Charlie Cullen was quickly dubbed "The Angel of Death" by the media. But Cullen was no mercy killer, nor was he a simple monster. He was a favorite son, husband, beloved father, best friend, and celebrated caregiver. Implicated in the deaths of as many as 300 patients, he was also perhaps the most prolific serial killer in American history.  Copies are available at SDPL and SDCL.  Also available to Link+.   Reach out to me if you need help procuring a copy.
